This Sunday Feb 10th is the final Booths League race at Shipley Cricket Club, Heanor.  Parking is available at St Michael House School which is on the approach road to the cricket club. Meet on Boythorpe Avenue for 9.00 if you wish to car share or are unsure of directions.

There will be a minutes silence prior to the start of the race for one of Heanor's runners (John Thornhill) who died recently.

The Derby 10k is on Sunday 20th April from Pride Park and if you are not running but able to help out with marshaling duties Alan McGill is looking for
volunteers.  Contact Alan on email Alan.McGill@Derbyshire.gov.uk if you can help.

Another training weekend in the Lake District is being planned by Steve Bennett.  Same as last year at Greenside Hut between Glenridding / Patterdale (near Ullswater).  Date is October 3-5, Friday to Sunday.

To book a place, first come first served, let Steve Bennett have deposit of £5 (non refundable).

Back once again by popular demand our annual QUIZ NIGHT is set to return.  Provisionally booked for the Olde House on Saturday 5th April.  There will be a note on the club website once it is confirmed.

Ann Barker will be our Quizmaster, or should that be mistress, and tickets are £5 per person, please pay Ann or Colin Sinnott.

The Rother Valley 10k is earlier this year.  The date is Saturday 5th April at 12 noon.  For an entry form see Steve Bennett or dowmload one from www.sheffieldathletics.co.uk

The Vets Road Relays are at Sutton Park on Saturday May 17th.  We have to submit names for this by early April so if you want to take part I need names by the end of March.

Teams are LV35 (4 runners) , LV45 (3 runners), MV40 (8 runners), MV50 (6 runners), MV60 (3 runners).

Open Evening  at Je James Cycles at Whittington Moor island on Wednesday 27th February from 6pm to 9pm.  It is not just bikes, Polar will be there demonstrating their HR Monitors and SiS (Science in Sport) will be offering free sports bottles and sample products of their energy drinks (recommended to John Cannon when he went down to Loughborough).  All club members are invited, see poster on club notice board at Queens Park.

There was some confusion over charging for changing facilities at Queen's Park following a price increase.  Mike Bravin has been in touch with the manager and agreed that the increase for running club members is now only 5p making the cost 55p.

Membership Cards.....  members who joined the club prior to October 2007 should now have received their England Athletics membership card which has a new 7 digit numeric Registration Number.   If asked for a UK:A registration number on race entry forms then this is the number to quote from now on.  lf your card has not arrived please let me know.

Members who joined since October will receive their card from April but on race entry forms can still use their club membership number which begins NDR00 until their new card arrives.

We now have a new Webmaster in Ian McMillan who has taken over from Richard Pentin in looking after the club website.  Ian has already started to make some changes so take a look at the new site at www.ndrc.co.uk
