Well done to everyone who ran on Tuesday, and an apology to those who’s handicap didn’t quite work out. A big thank you to all who helped out with marshalling around the course and at the finish with the results.
We had over 80 people at the post race buffet at the Olde House where Bill Dunphy received the Twigg Trophy and the following members won Keep on Running vouchers in the draws:- Garry Walker, Steve Leverton, Kev Loftus, Hugh Nugent, Ian Lilley and John Lake.

17 club runners completed the Kirkby Malzeard 10k on 7th June. Well done to Stuart Cunningham 36.52, Steve Leverton 37.20 (both in top 10), Suzy Roddis 42.26 and Clare Glazebrook 43.48 who all picked up prizes.

The night before we had 3 runners at Holme Pierrepoint for the Notts 10 mile - Colin Green 1.19.01 PB, Beth Young 1.19.22 PB and Ian Carty 1.25.27.

A lovely morning spent here by Suzanne Roddis, Ian&Heidi Mcmillan. Heidi took photos and cheered us on!
It was a pleasant two lap course mostly through parkland and is definite PB material - we both did well! Will definitely be back next year!

Ian McMillan is the new leader but only 40 points ahead of Richard Thorpe with Heidi Josephs just 1 point behind Richard. Still all to play for with 7 of the 21 events completed to date.

Yes at long last we are beginning to see an end to the long dark winter nights training on the streets and seeing more interesting locations in our schedule for April.
Subject to weather and conditions naturally as April can be a little unsettled.

Congratulations to Philip Ainge a North Derbyshire Runner who achieved
715th position (657th Male, 504 for age group) from over 4000 finishers in a time of 1:40:39
Liz Yelling was the first lady to cross the line finishing in 1:12:46
One North Derbyshire runner ran in this yesterday ( Sunday 02/03/2008).
Ian McMillan attained a new personal best of 93.17 (gun time) and 92.24 (chip time) .
With the strongest elite field ever to start at the Reading Half Marathon, both the male and female course records were smashed:
Male: Patrick Makau (KENYA) 61.19
Female: Liz Yelling (GBR) 69.35
There were 11181 finishers.
Date for your diary, we will be running a club trip to a race, the Kirkby Malzeard 10k on June 7th.
We are booking a coach for the trip and after the race going into York. More details in the next eNewsRun out this week.

The two North Derbyshire runners who competed:
Stuart Cunningham: 16th overall, 3rd Male Vet 40, 4:26:34 for 35 miles.
Ian McMillan: 26th overall, 10th Male Vet 40, 4:53:34 for 35 miles.
These results are from 70 finishers and 84 people who entered for the 35 mile ultra distance race.

An interesting point regarding the measured mile at Storforth Lane. I clocked it with my Garmin twice at 1.7km or 1.02 miles when I could see the laps properly after uploading the data to my PC.
